After leaving Namibia, we took note of new security
precautions that were not there before. Another passenger showed us a
picture that was taken from their balcony of a dummy on the ship’s stern
dressed like crew, manning a fire hose. These dummies were placed on three
decks. Jim found some deck doors that had previously been open, but now closed
to the passengers. When he sneaked a peak, he found that the fire hoses were
hooked up and laid out, ready to man. Never heard that there pirate problems on the Western Coast of Africa, but I am glad that the ship is prepared. Several years back, we sailed through pirate territory in the Indian Ocean. That time the ship had Israeli security on board and we definitely appreciated that!
Note the nozzles sticking out from the upper balconies and the one permanently mounted at sea level. |
You two are so brave!
