Swakopmund, Namibia

Namibian desert is fascinating. It comes right down to the ocean, so homes and industrial plants seem to rise from the desert. On the way to Swakopmund, a small resort town, we made a quick stop at Dune 7.

Once in town we spent our time shopping: t-shirts, local handcrafts and some art supplies for me. We have 15 days at sea; and I plan some serious crafting. We did one stop at a weaving factory, but no rugs will be coming home with us.

I thought this woman wearing traditional dress that only married women can wear and this feminist wall painting in the middle of a township were interesting.
